Overview:

Today in class we will start on chapter 19 “Political Reform and the Progressive Era”. We will start by taking a PRE-TEST over the material.

We will then hear a reading from a book called “The Jungle” by Upton Sinclair. It describe the meat packing industry during the early 1900’s and is an excellent example of how business when unchecked can become toxic to America on many fronts.

Assignments:

Miscellaneous: Get some sleep, in a recent study 80% of US teens grades are negatively effected due to lack of sleep.
